It seems pickup trucks of today can be considered a status symbol with MSRP’s rivaling the most luxurious sedans. Many not being used for what they were originally intended for, work.
Today’s OCG offering comes from an era when trucks had a purpose. This 1952 Chevrolet 3600 pickup most certainly was purchased new with a real purpose. So how did it survive this long and in this condition which such low miles? Most never made it past their first decade as they generally served that purpose, driven and worked hard and were discarded.
Sporting a unique five window cab design, this truck was Chevy’s more heavy duty 3/4 ton offering. What’s funny is the lighter duty 3100 used much of the same sheet metal and size. The difference was in the mechanicals. Obviously too, this truck was at some point converted to a wooden stake bed configuration. Useful to tradesmen.
Purchased by its most recent owner back in 1995 from Minnesota and having just 25,670 miles accumulated. He used this truck a lot over the years since for shows, truck events and parades. This was his pride and joy. The odometer now shows 86,223 miles.
Just an absolute rust free, turn key old truck. Super clean. It’s ‘Thiftmaster’ straight six fires right to life. It’s mated to a three speed manual transmission. This truck also has been converted to 12V electrical system.
