Making a support for steering wheel bearing on the gocart. Will freeze bearing (to shrink it) and install after i get this part welded on frame.

Turned a 3/4 stainless steel shaft down earlier to fit the inside of the bearing. Will be a press fit. Now just waiting on the u-joint to arrive so I can place supports and mock up the steering before cutting or welding anything.

2nd and 3rd picture shows how I am doing it now. I closed the gap at bottom so that the kids didnt have to bend their legs around the steering frame, which would make it more comfortable for them.

Other pictures are how it looks with nephew sitting and how it is too short and too low.

Not to bad for being self taught on TIG welding. I know there is alot of room for improvement.

This is going to be a steering mount adapter for new steering wheel. Still need to machine it down to size, bore out end to fit shaft, drill and tap holes for bolts and drill and tap holes to mount to shaft.

I am redoing the whole steering setup now to adjust so steering wheel isn't in kids laps or chest.

So i decided to put the drum brake back on.... incase the hydraulic brakes fail or doesnt stop it fast enough. Will put seats back on and start putting roll cage on in next few days!!

After getting seats on, I took him in front yard to test it out. (Mind you, he has never been on a gocart and is still learning) he peeled out a few times and then hit the curb. Then as I moved it, he turned too hard and the plastic steering wheel broke. So now I have an aluminum one on order.

I finished covering the seats with fake leather and installed. I told him that it was hand eye coordination and learning how to hold your mouth properly to get a nut on a bolt in a blind spot lmao

Had "Lil turd" Kaius out helping me today installing the tires and cotter pins on the cart. Seat material should be here...

Had "Lil turd" Kaius out helping me today installing the tires and cotter pins on the cart. Seat material should be here this week and I can get it installed and be finished with this gocart. Will measure and prep wood tomorrow.

Started putting it together today!!! Still waiting on castle nuts to hold tires on, which they should be here in 3 or ...

Started putting it together today!!! Still waiting on castle nuts to hold tires on, which they should be here in 3 or 4 days. Then to drill holes in shafts for cotter pins, put nuts on, put roll cage on and the engine last.

Got a little done on gocart between all the rain.

Fab'd brake linkage for the hydraulic brake.
Drilled and tapped the back spocket adapter, welded a mount for the brake reservoir and ordered some castle nuts to hold rims on.
