Although many have heard by now, after 7 1/2 years we are closing our doors, effective immediately. Thank you to our loyal customers, and all of Grays Harbor, for entertaining our presence and allowing us to serve you. We don’t rule out a possible return to the business in the future, but with the loss of our partner (you know, the guy who got everything done) and everything else happening in the world right now, we’ve finally come to the realization that our arrangement on State Street is no longer tenable.

If you aren’t aware, I (Jamie, fearless leader) am now making automotive videos on YouTube on my Dead Dodge Garage channel. If you have any other questions about why we might be closing, they may well be answered in this video I made.

So that’s that. So long, and thanks for all the fish.

Warning! This episode contains at least two swears. If you watch with children, I advise you to plug their ears for the last minute or so. Anyway, after year...

We haven't posted in a while, and one reason is this crazy year long project we've just wrapped up - or at least almost wrapped up. It's a 1978 Dodge W200 that started out cool, but rusty and rough around the edges. It was treated to just about a full restoration, with the engine, other mechanicals, electrical, assembly and detail work done in house. Rust repair and welding were done by our friend Topher. Paint and body comes courtesy of our friend Mike, who put in months of effort getting the truck looking its best. The awesome seats were redone with custom buns and covers by Holcomb Upholstery. Crowell Brothers handled the mile long dual exhaust. The truck is fuel injected, and was built to be used as a truck should be - and look awesome while doing it.

Today was Duster day. We removed some old lift shackles from this excellent car and put the rear suspension back to stock height. Also installed some fresh KYB shocks and did a bit of detail painting. Up next will likely be a front suspension overhaul. Mopar suspensions are one of our specialities.

Hard at work on the '65 Dart and things are progressing nicely. The next task is wiring ignition, headlight and turn signal switches. The tail light wires were run several feet too long and need to be trimmed, terminated and wrapped. The car is equipped with a Chevy style tilt column, which adds an extra layer of fun to mating everything. Other than swapping and wiring the coil and Pertronix, the front of the car is as finished as it will be until the owner decides on a gauge setup. Despite the differences in this aftermarket setup, we try to route and wrap everything as near to original as possible.

On today's episode, we turn this rat's nest of wires into a functional electrical system. Chrysler wiring has a bad reputation (for a couple good reasons,) and it is very common to have dead gauges and lighting in these cars. But repairing the original wiring is usually much easier than tearing everything out and starting from scratch, as this owner learned the hard way.

Generally speaking, we like the fuel to not-fuel ratio in our customers' vehicles to be a little more... fuely. You can see the slight amount of gas present on top. We're not exactly sure what this is or how it got there, but it definitely doesn't burn.

We had the opportunity to solve a strange RV electrical problem for Kevin and Ruth, a traveling Canadian couple who have driven their RV (Sherman) from the Arctic Ocean to Mexico and back again. They keep a very popular travel blog about their adventures, and they wrote an excellent review of us, which you can find on their site below.

We are in the midst of stripping this Beetle for a budget restoration. It needs a little metal work and a nice shiny coat of paint. We're also rebuilding the brakes, fixing the fuel system and handling some minor electrical issues.
