After nearly a year of waiting, it’s finally here.
Today’s test subject—a 2022 Hyundai Elantra N 2.0T—took a long time to get into our hands. The delay wasn’t in our manufacturing process, as the prototype was completed months ago; rather, finding an Elantra N locally for fitment verification proved to be a real challenge.
Now, the verification process is officially complete.
The design philosophy behind the Elantra N system (ELN01) centers on understated aesthetics backed by uncompromised performance.
The heat shield incorporates a versatile dual-mode setup:
Cover Installed: Delivers a clean, stealthy OEM+ look in the engine bay—perfect for drivers who prefer a subtle appearance.
Cover Removed: Fully exposes the massive 152mm (6-inch) air filter, making an immediate statement the moment the hood is lifted.
The intake pipe is constructed from high-grade molded plastic, specifically engineered using fluid dynamics to reduce heat soak while optimizing the airflow path. Paired with the massive 152mm filter, it enables the turbocharger to draw cooler, higher-velocity air more directly.
Dyno-Proven Results:
Compared to the factory intake setup:
Peak Power Gain: +12 hp
Sharper, more direct turbo response
Noticeably lighter, more immediate throttle feel
Aggressive high-RPM intake suction sound with every full-throttle pull
Bonus Upgrade:
The owner also commissioned VOR Motorsport for a custom ECU tune. Combined with the high-volume airflow provided by the MST intake, output on this 2.0T platform jumped from the factory baseline of ~230 hp all the way to 330 hp and 51 kg-m of torque (368 lb-ft / 500 Nm)!
If it were your build, which setup would you choose:
Stealth Mode (Cover On) or Battle Mode (Filter Exposed)?
