Road safety, let's play our part in ensuring the road and surrounding areas are safe for driving or riding.

15/08/2026

Along our highways, there are different hazards that can pose serious threats to the driving and riding community.

When we encounter these hazards, they may not always be known to the relevant authorities, or they may not yet have been identified as a priority for attention. This is why reporting and bringing awareness to potential hazards can play an important role in road safety.

Hard shoulders are areas that should remain clear of obstructions, particularly because they provide motorists with a safe space to use during emergencies without unnecessarily disrupting other road users, especially on highways.

In this video, the area shown is a lane separation between the left lane and a deceleration lane. In the absence of a hard shoulder, this space could potentially provide a valuable safety area for a driver or rider who needs to slow down, stop, or regain control due to a vehicle failure, malfunction, or other emergency.

This post is not intended to cast blame on anyone. Instead, I hope it can be viewed as a helping hand and an opportunity to identify and address a potential hazard before it contributes to an incident or accident.

I always mention that Road safety is a shared responsibility, and everyone must play their part. So Sometimes, seeing a hazard and bringing it to the right attention can make a difference.

Letโ€™s continue looking out for one another. Drive safely, ride safely, and get to your destinations and homes safely. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ

Life comes with its share of stressors, and none of us are immune to them. But when we get behind the wheel, operate heavy equipment, or perform any task that requires our full attention, our focus must remain on the task at hand.

Road rage can blind us to the risks around us. It becomes a cognitive distraction that can affect our judgment, decision making, and ultimately, the way we drive or operate.

Road rage is not something we should ignore even when it appears in the smallest ways. Once we recognize that we are experiencing or displaying signs of road rage, we need to stop, reflect, reset, and make a conscious decision to change our driving or operating behaviour for the better.

Whether it's tailgating, blocking someone from overtaking, excessive horn use, aggressive acceleration, or simply refusing to give way, let's learn to recognize our triggers and find ways to remain calm, patient, and level-headed.

Remember: Arriving safely is more important than proving a point.

Let's manage our emotions, protect ourselves and others, and make every journey a safer one.

Drive safe. Operate safe. Stay focused.
Blessings. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ
