Autosol Metal Polish: Safety and NSF Certification
In addition to our commitment to quality, Autosol has a commitment to safety. To ensure the safety of our products and customers, Autosol has registered with NSF for our most popular product, the Metal Polish. NSF International (National Sanitation Foundation) is an independent public health and safety organization that reviews products according to a strict set of guidelines and authorizes them for varying applications and degrees of safety. When a product such as Autosol contains an NSF mark it means that a third party (NSF) has made sure that the product complies with their stringent standards.
Autosol Metal Polish has been registered with the NSF as a safe “metal cleaner and polish for nonfood contact surfaces in and around food processing areas.” This is great news for the restaurant industry and the home user, and even for the motorcyclist (make your bike so clean that you can safely eat off of it! Although we don’t recommend this). As you can assume, if it’s safe to use around your food it is an all around safe product.
If you plan to use Autosol Metal Polish in food processing areas, please remove all food before use and allow the odors of the compound to dissipate before bringing food back in. We’ve gotten questions before about if Autosol is safe for pots and pans and we would recommend using it on the outside only. For more on our particular NSF Registration, please check out our registration letter.
In order to maintain the NSF registered status, each product has to go through a periodic review. This is a crucial part of the process, because it is important to have safety rules in place for public health. As you can see on the NSF registration letter we were reviewed as recently as 2008, even though our award winning formula has been the same since 1929.
So, next time you use the Autosol Metal Polish, take a look at the NSF logo on the box and know that you are using a tried and tested quality product that we are proud of. At Autosol we are interested in keeping our products up to standards in order to promote safety for those who are using our products.
