The clutch fork and fork bearings are components that transmit the separating force and motion to the clutch release bearing. Misalignment and wear on the clutch fork can cause a loss of force/movement, preventing the release bearing from applying sufficient and equal force to the release fingers.
Causes:
📌 Excessive use of half-clutch.
📌 Resting the foot on the clutch pedal after shifting gears.
📌 External substances entering the clutch system, making its operation difficult.
📌 Clutch fork used beyond its service life.
📌 The clutch fork should be checked with every clutch replacement and replaced if necessary.
📌 The movement of the clutch fork within the system should be observed to ensure it is smooth and even.
i. The fork shaft should not be bent or worn.
ii. Bushings and bearing housings should not be worn.
iii. Fork tip bearings should be suitable for the working conditions.

As the clutch disc wears or the pressure plate diaphragm spring deforms, the clutch pedal may become stiffer. If vibration is felt at the engagement point or when the pedal is fully depressed, it may indicate an uneven contact surface between the pressure plate and clutch disc, or a problem with the clutch fork.

If a whining or humming noise is heard, it may be caused by worn release bearings or a worn clutch fork, damage to the clutch disc's torsion damper (sprung hub) mechanism, or, in vehicles equipped with a dual-mass flywheel (DMF), wear or failure of the flywheel itself.

If the vehicle experiences a jerky or shuddering take-off, it may result from improper contact between the clutch disc and pressure plate, wear at the contact surfaces of the pressure plate and clutch disc, or an uneven or damaged flywheel surface.

If the engine RPM increases when accelerating but the vehicle does not gain speed and the clutch slips, this condition is known as clutch slippage. It is typically caused by insufficient friction due to a worn clutch disc, oil contamination on the clutch disc surface, or the use of a clutch system that is not compatible with the vehicle.

Bent or Damaged Clutch Hub Cover
The clutch hub cover must be on the same axis as the clutch shaft. Bent, worn, and/or clutch hub covers that make bearing movement difficult will prevent the clutch bearing from returning to the cover and cause the clutch to remain in the half-clutch position, resulting in slipping problems.
Causes:
📌Clutch bearing operating with unsuitable oil on the clutch hub cover
📌Clutch bearing not being lubricated properly or not at all
📌Using a clutch bearing that has reached the end of its service life
📌Engine and gearbox misalignment
