- Learn to use your snorkel gear
☑️ Your snorkel mask allows you to breathe while you are swimming on top of the water. A mask places a layer of air between your eyes and the water and allows you to see clearly. When using a mask objects appear to be larger and closer.
☑️ Snorkels have a soft mouthpiece with tags called spigots for you to grip with your teeth while breathing.
- Wear a life jacket
☑️ Check the label for user weight and chest size.
☑️ Different body types float differently.
☑️ Try your lifejacket on in the water to ensure your airway is clear.
☑️ A good fit is secure, comfortable, and adjustable.
- Ensure you are feeling well enough for diving but not over-hydrated (and free from the effects of alcohol or drugs)
