HAZARD LIGHTS DON’T MAKE PARKING LEGAL 🚗⚠️
In Thailand, turning on your hazard lights does not give you permission to stop or park wherever you want.

Here’s the difference:
🔸 Yellow-White Curb = NO PARKING
You may stop only briefly to drop off / pick up passengers or load / unload items — and you must do it without delay.

🔴 Red-White Curb = NO STOPPING
No stopping and no parking at all.

Thai traffic law also prohibits stopping or parking in many places, including sidewalks, bridges, tunnels, intersections, crosswalk areas, building entrances, and anywhere that blocks traffic.

If your vehicle breaks down, that is different: you should move it clear of traffic as soon as possible. If you must stop, you must not obstruct traffic and you must show the required warning sign.

Important: Police may order the vehicle to be moved, and illegally stopped or parked vehicles may be towed or immobilised.
