🔧 KE PERFORMANCE | KLX250 → 408cc
Another challenging project — and possibly our final KLX big-bore stroker kit.

Originally, the customer ordered a KLX 402cc kit. However, due to a miscommunication between our workshop and the machine shop manufacturing the crankshaft, the stroke ended up slightly different from what we originally planned.

The stock stroke is 61.2 mm, and our target was 63.2 mm (+2 mm total stroke). However, the finished crankshaft came with a 64.2 mm stroke, bringing the engine displacement to approximately 408cc instead of the originally planned 402cc.

Before shipping the kit, I will assemble the crankshaft, piston, and cylinder on a testing jig to verify that all components work together correctly.

This includes checking crankshaft rotation, piston movement, possible interference between components, and piston deck height to ensure everything is within the required specifications.

This KLX 408cc kit may also be the last one we produce.

Some components are becoming increasingly difficult to source, while others require custom manufacturing. The entire process can take at least 2–3 months, sometimes longer.

I understand how frustrating long waiting times can be for customers, and I don't want to keep accepting orders if I cannot provide a reasonable production timeline.

Although these projects are challenging, my priority has always been to carefully inspect and verify every component before shipping.

Building a larger-displacement engine is not simply about increasing the bore and stroke. Every measurement and clearance must work together correctly.

Thank you to all our customers for your continued trust and support. 🙏

📢 Announcement from KENG ENGINE / KE PERFORMANCE 🏁

Dear valued customers,

I would like to let everyone know that I’ll be taking a short break for the next 2–3 days to relax and recharge.

During this time, I may not be able to reply to Facebook messages or emails, and responses may be delayed.

For customers who already have confirmed orders with scheduled shipping dates, don't worry! Your orders will still be shipped as originally scheduled. 📦✅

Once I'm back, I'll do my best to catch up and reply to everyone as soon as possible.

After working hard for so long, I think it's time to clear my head, recharge my energy, and enjoy a little adventure with my KLX 402. 🏍️🌲⛰️

Thank you all for your understanding and continued support. I truly appreciate every one of you! ❤️🙏

See you in a few days!

I would like to explain the differences between the carburetor-model cylinder head and the EFI-model cylinder head.

If you look at the video, the cylinder head on the left is from the carburetor model. You can see that some of the coolant passages are slightly smaller compared with the EFI head on the right.

The EFI head on the right also has an additional hole for the EFI temperature sensor. This hole uses an M10 x 1.25 thread. This is not a problem because we can make a proper plug to close this hole when converting the head for use with the carburetor model.

Another important difference is the intake-manifold mounting fl**ge.

On the carburetor head on the left, the distance between the mounting holes is approximately 63.50 mm center-to-center. On the EFI head on the right, you can clearly see that the mounting-hole spacing is wider.

However, this is also not a problem. We can drill and tap new mounting holes in the correct position so that the original carburetor intake manifold / carburetor boot can be installed properly.

So overall, the EFI cylinder head can be modified to work correctly on the carburetor model.

🔥 KLX250 Big Valve Cylinder Head – Next Step: CNC Porting 🔥

The upgraded Kawasaki KLX250 cylinder heads with larger valves have now arrived at the shop.

The final step is CNC porting to optimize the intake and exhaust port shape for better airflow and performance.

One of these heads is an EFI-version KLX cylinder head, but we will be modifying it to work with the older carbureted KLX model as well.

Stay tuned and let’s see how clean and beautiful the ports will look once the CNC porting is completed. 🔧🔥

⚖️ Piston Weight Comparison – Honda CRF250 / CRF300 / CBR300

In this video, we compare the piston weights:

1️⃣ Stock CRF250 piston – 76 mm
2️⃣ Stock CRF300 CBR300 piston –76 mm
3️⃣ KE Big Bore piston – 83 mm

Even though the 83 mm piston has a significantly larger bore diameter, its weight remains very close to the original Honda piston.

Keeping the piston weight under control is important when increasing bore size, helping to reduce unnecessary reciprocating mass and maintain good engine response at higher RPM.

Bigger bore doesn’t always have to mean a much heavier piston. 🔧🔥
