🇩🇪 ORIGINAL vs. 🇨🇳 COPY–PASTE? 👀
At first glance, the similarities are hard to ignore.
On one side, we have the HYMER Venture S – one of the most distinctive European concepts in the premium adventure motorhome segment.
On the other, HMT, a Chinese interpretation of a remarkably similar idea: rugged styling, Mercedes-based platform, pop-up roof, off-road character and a futuristic body design.
Coincidence, inspiration… or simply COPY → PASTE → DEVELOP?
China's automotive industry has already demonstrated how quickly it can move from following established concepts to developing its own technologies – and eventually challenging established manufacturers, particularly in electrification, digital technology, equipment and price-performance ratio.
Could caravaning be next?
Today, we are seeing similar concepts. Tomorrow, we could see a new generation of Chinese motorhomes offering:
* Electrified drivetrains
* Larger battery and energy systems
* Advanced solar solutions
* Smarter connected technology
* Innovative layouts and equipment
* And potentially a very aggressive price-to-equipment ratio
So, we'd like to hear your opinion:
Is this kind of "copy" acceptable, or has the similarity gone too far?
🇪🇺 Would you still choose the European original?
🇨🇳 Or would you consider a Chinese motorhome if it offered a similar concept and equipment at a significantly lower price?
And perhaps the biggest question:
What will we see coming from China in the caravaning industry over the next 5 years?
