Repair Summary – Bentley Continental GT
Workshop: Technik Motorsport
Issue Identified:
The vehicle’s gear shift mechanism was found to have a damaged gear shift gate/selector plate assembly. The internal plastic components and the sliding cover mechanism were worn and broken, which caused difficulty in shifting and improper alignment of the gear selector positions.
Repair Work Performed:
1. The center console and gear shift assembly were carefully disassembled.
2. The damaged gear shift gate (P-R-N-D-S selector plate) and the associated cover components were removed.
3. A brand-new OEM replacement gear shift gate assembly, complete with new sliding cover and wiring harness, was installed.
4. The new assembly was tested to ensure smooth gear engagement and proper illumination of gear indicators.
5. Final system check completed — all functions normal.
Recommendation to Customer:
The damaged gear shift assembly has been successfully replaced with a new part. We recommend periodic inspection of the gear selector mechanism during routine servicing to ensure smooth operation and to prevent premature wear. Avoid excessive force when shifting between gears to extend the life of the new assembly.
Status: ✅ Repair Completed — Vehicle ready for delivery.
