It’s Monday, and we’re with another Bimota. This time, a DB7. Shot by Momotng Photography
This might be a Ducati 1098 underneath. Thought to be the most powerful twin-cylinder engine at the time, Bimota still went to work. Changes included a different fuel injection system coupled with a bespoke exhaust system. It is reported to make 30% more power than the 1098.
And yet, with more power, the Bimota is still lighter than the Ducati.
The DB7 was never something you could tame right out of the box. The ExtremeTech rear shock and Marzocchi Corse RAC 43mm forks required dialling in. Plus, the chassis height can also be adjusted to suit rider preference and road conditions.
Want to snap up one of these? Tough luck. Bimota’s short production run of the hand-built DB7 means there aren’t many examples worldwide.
According to LTA’s statistics, there are only six Bimotas left on our roads - making this DB7 possibly the only example that is known to exist here.
