Update - Fixed. CIM needed an SPS for the XWD.

Anyone ever have a Saab XWD with a message at start up - every time - *Service XWD* and yet no codes are stored in the car and everything is working as it should be?

Brief history - 2010 9-3 XWD 2.0T Sedan (NON - ELSD) 110K
End of 2023 (107K) I performed a fluid and filter service to the diff.

Sometime in 2024 customer was getting *Service XWD message after driving a bit. (Temperature related/Time Related fault.)
Car has come in for check over/service and I found 2 codes in the RDCM- and once it hit 21 C (about 70* F) the rear diff would just disable itself.

CIM Died while on the lift for service. B1000 Internal Failure.
Installed good used 2008 CIM. Car starts now again etc.

I replaced the rear solenoid behind the module with a known good one from a parts unit I have in stock - topped off the fluid level and cleared the codes.

Now the diff is working perfectly and stays working but I am getting a message at every start up with no codes. I drove it in figure 8's I went on a long test drive and still - same results.

And yes the RDCM has the most current software - I checked/did that at the last visit in 2023.

Thoughts?

As I am always working on 10 cars at once - and playing boss while doing everything else - I have a tow in 1993 9000 Turbo - 5 speed. Rand when it left here after replacement of a failed turbo. Car was running great - customer picked up on Saturday during a rain storm. They hit a puddle about 20 minutes away from the shop and the car conked out. They ended up getting it to start once with a new battery and it died again before driving anywhere. They had it towed back. Well since it arrived we replaced a dead fuel pump relay and a burned out fuel pump. Car at this point did start and run for a little - and has since gone back to NO fuel pump/pressure at rail KOEO and KOE-Cranking. If you jumper the fuse it runs the pump - but no injectors fire to make it run. It being a 1993 and we had repaired damaged wire to the CPS years ago and I had a new one on hand we spliced in a NOS sensor (which did OHM out good compared to the OL of the old one.)
Alas - it cranks over very well - and does not start. The wiring diagrams are a game of cat and mouse it seems - and to complicate matters more the owner converted this ETS/TCS car to a non ETS system. Love the 1 year 9000's....... Thoughts? What is our tired minds missing. All grounds and such look fine - ISAT gives no help when scanned. Only has speed sensor codes for the TCS system. Many thanks as always! Hoping to get this running and gone tomorrow based on replies..... Back to doing the other 3 cars and 2 for today I haven't touched yet.

Thanks GM! Melted wires at Tailgate Module, Trunk Full of water. Could not open hatch without dismantling it from the inside. Another genius design by GM.

I found a good source for the Saab 9-3 SS Camshaft Locking tools in case anyone needs them. I was missing the "Silver" set for the 2007+ cars so I just ordered up a pair. $134 shipped! Not too bad.

I have a 2004 9-3 convertible with an odd air conditioning problem. The ac will work and blow ice cold for anywhere from 2 hours to 5 minutes. Then the ac requested turns it off unless you cycle the acc down to a colder temp to force the ac back on. No codes stored. Outside temperature reading is spot on. Inside cabin temperature is close. Brand new ACC fan speed controler. Tried different ACC panels, adding the acc, bcm, icm and swapping the ecu. Relay is good and not hot. Compressor clutch works fine. System pressure is correct when running.
