According to the academic policy passed in 2021 to make Arabic and Islamiyat studies compulsory in schools, The Ministry of Education and High Education has started to implement this decision starting the academic year 2022-2023.

Considering the fact that 173 kindergartens are operating in the country, whereas the number of private schools and Kindergartens has reached up to 338, this decision comes as a bid to provide necessary solutions, if needed, for the success of the education curriculum. The subjects include Islamic studies, Arabic, and also Qatar history.
