To fellow Deepal S05 owners:

One thing worth keeping in mind is that the stock tyres are low rolling resistance tyres. Most manufacturers use these on EVs / REEVs to maximize fuel efficiency and improve the official consumption figures. The trade-off is that grip, especially under hard braking, isn't always the strongest point.

Considering the S05 weighs close to 1,800 kg and our road conditions aren't always ideal, I felt braking performance could be improved. I switched to 235/60/R18 tyres, which stay well within the acceptable tolerance range (around 1.7% variance from stock).

The difference in braking confidence has been quite noticeable. Grip is better, ride comfort remains the same as well, and fuel economy has stayed virtually unchanged in my experience.

I also moved to 8-inch-wide alloys from the stock 7-inch setup, which gives the tyre a slightly better contact patch and overall stance.

If anyone is considering the upgrade, I can genuinely recommend it based on my experience. Also, the supplier I used was professional and knowledgeable, and I believe he still has one set available.

Out of 1588 KMs on petrol - 500 KMs were on Motorway. Rest within city. Have not used my charger once as yet. Charging on fuel priority when need be. Else driving in hybrid mode mainly plus in Eco majority of the times. Excellent fuel average considering the above.
