Of course, the newest five-cylinder on this list is found in the Audi RS3, and as the world moves toward electrification, it's possible that this is the last one produced by Audi or, for that matter, any manufacturer.

In 2020, the 8Y A3 was released, and later that year, the S3 with a four-cylinder turbocharger. Audi didn't release the RS3 until 2021, with a 400PS (294kW) and 500Nm (369 lb-ft) torque rating, an increase of 20Nm (15 lb-ft). With a firing order of 1,2,4,5,3, it has one of the greatest exhaust noises of any car that is now for sale.

Its roots may be found in the 2009 Audi TT RS, the first contemporary Audi with an inline-five, and in some situations, you can even mistake it for the V10 of its Audi sibling, the R8. Performance? In 3.8 seconds, you can go from 0 to 62 mph. Not bad for a hatchback with five seats.

The A3 line's boiling, bubbling bowl of oatmeal is the 401-hp RS3. The base 201-hp A3 and even the 306-hp S3 are simply lukewarm porridge in comparison. Along with its remarkable herd of horses, the RS3's turbocharged 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine pushes out 369 pound-feet of heat and transfers it to all four wheels via a snappy-shifting seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, and Audi's Quattro all-wheel drive system.

The RS3 exudes a strong sense of bad-boy attitude in its outward styling, interior arrangement, and aerodynamic features. The RS3's excellent acceleration, deceleration, agility, stability, and driving thrills support its unmistakable message.

For the 2024 model year, the mid-size pickup truck's fourth generation, the Toyota Tacoma Overview receives a complete facelift. The new Taco receives updated powertrains, more contemporary features, and a wider selection of trim levels, including the recently introduced Trail hunter that is targeted at people who enjoy overlanding, in addition to inheriting a variation of the body-on-frame TNGA-F platform shared with the recently redesigned Toyota Tundra.

When the vehicles go on sale in the fourth quarter of this year, Toyota isn't likely to provide pricing information for the 2024 Toyota Tacoma lineup until later this year.

Due to the delayed availability of the hybrid powertrain, consumers who are interested in the Trail hunter and TRD Pro will have to wait even longer, since both top-end trim levels won't hit showrooms until next spring.

Every Tacoma is powered by a 2.4-liter four-cylinder turbocharger. The gearbox can be either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic, and the engine comes in a variety of configurations.

There are options for both rear- and four-wheel drive. Only the entry-level SR has the standard 228 horsepower turbo four, while the remainder of the lineup has more potent iForce variants with up to 278 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque.

With 326 horses and 465 pound-feet, the iForce Max (automatic only) commands the roost. It is a hybrid system with a small nickel-metal hydride battery and an electric motor located between the engine and gearbox.

There are two distinct rear suspensions available, despite the fact that all 2024 Toyota Tacomas have a body-on-frame design. Old-fashioned leaf springs support the SR, SR5 extended cab, and TRD PreRunner, while coil springs give the other vehicles a smoother ride.

The 2024 Toyota Tacoma excels at digging in the mud, so off-road-oriented variants have the equipment to virtually anywhere. With underbody protection, knobby 33-inch Goodyear Territory R/T tires, and some unique suspension parts, the Trailhunter and TRD Pro, in particular, are strengthened.

There were numerous theories about Audi Sport in 2022, with many pointing to the approaching end of the R8 supercar's production as a warning that its customer division may be dissolved in the years to come.

The rumors surfaced against a background of various changes in Audi's motorsport portfolio, including the cancellation of the LMDh project, which was in development, and the introduction of a brand-new Formula 1 program beginning in 2026, along with its ongoing manufacturing commitments to the Dakar Rally.

However, it appears that there is growing confidence inside the Audi stable that it will continue to compete in GT racing, fueled by the hiring of Rolf Michl as the head of Audi Sport on 1 September.

Many believe Michl to be more qualified for a position in motorsport than his predecessor Julius Seebach, who has subsequently moved to Audi's technical division because he has prior experience in the same sector as well as at Abt Sportsline.
