Assessing Engine Condition through Spark Plugs
1. Good Condition: If the spark plugs appear clean and in good condition, it suggests that the engine is functioning properly, and the engine components are working as intended.
2. Saturated with Oil: If the spark plugs are covered in oil, it may indicate a problem with the piston rings or valve
3. Improper Spark Plug Gap: If the gap between the electrodes of the new spark plug is not adjusted correctly.
4. Long-term Spark Plug Neglect: Spark plugs that have not been changed
5. Fuel with High Lead Content: If the spark plugs are coated with lead deposits, it suggests that the fuel being used has a high percentage.
6. Poor Combustion: Spark plugs that are heavily coated with carbon deposits may indicate issues with the fuel delivery system or air filter, resulting in incomplete or inefficient combustion.
7. Elevated Engine Temperature: If the spark plugs show signs of increased heat, it could be a sign of a problem with the cooling system.
8. Fuel Type Mismatch: Using a fuel type that is not recommended for the engine (e.g., using 80 octane gasoline instead of the recommended 90 or 92 octane.
9. Mechanical or Foreign Object Issues: Spark plugs that appear damaged or discolored may indicate the presence of a mechanical problem.
