⚠️ Warning for Everyone Visiting Plaza Saddar, Karachi ⚠️
Today my husband and son went to Plaza Saddar to buy some car accessories. They parked our new car, and within seconds a group of people surrounded them.
Without asking for permission, they started removing the rubber lining (weather strip) from the doors of our car. My husband repeatedly told them, "Please don't remove it. It's perfectly fine. We don't want it changed." But they ignored him and continued removing the door rubber.
Two men controlled my husband while others surrounded the car. They even got inside our car and forced my son to sit in the middle so he couldn't move. My husband kept saying, "Please put the door rubber back. Why did you remove it?" Instead, they demanded money to stick it back with tape.
First they demanded Rs. 100,000, then Rs. 88,000, and finally around 15–20 men gathered with stones in their hands, threatening to smash our windshield if we didn't pay.
My husband is a high blood pressure patient, and due to the immense pressure and fear, his BP shot up. My son was terrified and helpless because they had surrounded him inside the car.
To save themselves, they were forced to pay Rs. 30,000 for absolutely nothing. This was not a payment—it was organized extortion under threats.
The most shocking part was that many nearby shopkeepers appeared to support these people instead of helping us.
This wasn't a misunderstanding or a business dispute. It was daylight robbery carried out by a group of people who used intimidation, threats, and fear to extort money from innocent citizens.
Can anyone please guide me where this incident should be reported? Is there any authority that can take action against these people and help us recover our hard-earned money? We did not file a police report immediately because our only priority at that moment was to get out safely. We were in shock and surrounded by a mob.
Karachi's citizens work day and night to earn an honest living. No one should have to go through this kind of trauma just for visiting Plaza Saddar.
Please share this post so more people become aware and no other family has to experience the same nightmare.
