" Honda E "

Honda release some official details on their upcoming "E", a fully electric urban/ city car. The car in video clip and images is still a prototype but expect the production model to keep a lot of design elements as can be seen as prototype. Expect exterior to remain exactly same while we might see some changes on interior.

• It will be a rear wheel drive

• Powered by a 148hp electric motor.

• 300Nm of torque.

• 50:50 weight distribution for highly responsive performance ,and vehicle dynamics.

• Slim and compact water cooled 35.5kW battery .

• Expected to have a 200km range on full charge under ideal conditions.

• Fast charging, 80% in half an hour.

• The car will be a single pedal. Means just one pedal to move and brake. Once you press pedal it will move and increasing pressure on pedal will accelerate the car. Keeping foot at constant position will keep te car in the same speed. Releasing pressure will apply brakes.

• The conventional brake pedal will be there, but you can maneuver car with single pedal if you want to by switching to single pedal mode.

• Regenerative braking will also help the car slow down and stop.

Sales will start later this year while official production model will be shown in September. The E is targeted for European market at this time and specifically UK, Norway, Germany and France. No details on pricing but expect it to around £30,000 in UK.
