The Pakistani EV market is currently dominated by imported Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) vehicles, particularly from Nissan and Toyota. Popular models include the Nissan Leaf, Nissan Sakura, Nissan Ariya, and Toyota bZ4X. An important distinction among EVs is battery design. Most Japanese EVs use battery packs that can be replaced when they reach the end of their service life. Some Chinese manufacturers, including certain BYD models, use structural batteries integrated into the vehicle's chassis. This design enhances structural rigidity and safety but generally requires specialised equipment and authorised service centres for battery replacement.
