Civic Turbo is back ;
with
" Really Stupid " RS emblem.
Civic Turbo date for start of sale , order booking is not yet finalized. Means it is relaunched but will not go on sale as of now. It might not be on display @ dealers showrooms as per current information. So it's more of virtual reality.
By now everyone knows what is coming but I was in possession of some more information so I thought lets share it with you guys & gals. Honda Atlas will bring official details probably on 9th April.
Internationally Civic got a very minor visual face-lift, which includes a different front bumper and chrome garnish in the middle of the rear bumper. BUT as we all know a PKDM recipe is always little different and special and exclusive. I am sharing the images of the official brochure but let me simplify it little more.

Apparently the base Civic remains as it is and does not get any visual makeup. Yes it gets Cruise Control. NO you dont get a trunk liner because it cost a lot of money and anyone who buys this variant should not have this so called aerospace technology.
No detail on price change.

Honda Atlas has found a new place to put some chrome chamak patti. A horizontal strip next to fog light at front bumper while a chrome patti on the rear bumper on edges.
Beside that good news is Oriel will get new 16" alloy wheels and LED headlights and LED fog lights. Honda Atlas is very kind enough and placed the all time talked about out of this world feature " the trunk liner". We all should stand up and must salute.
OH! dont forget the Shark-Funteena.

Atlas has been teasing us for a week now. We have buckled up and Turbo is back and this time at the runway. Honda again has been kind enough and first time in the history of Pakistan has introduced a Really Silly model. Yes Turbo is coming back and with some new emblems "markay" in simple zaban.
Turbo is coming back with new Engine control module [ ECM ] and the reason is the issues Turbo was facing due to low quality fuel. Its early to say if there is any effect on performance figures [ power, torque ] after the new ECM.
Some experts believed in the past that de-tuning was the only option keeping in mind that the fuel issue is not yet resolved and the quality / ingredients and additives are same as before.
Also it's not yet clear what is the required refueling grade. Is it same 91 octane previously or Honda wants something higher.
Rest , it gets a new Wing spoiler because yes its RS. Same like oriel, it will get chamak patti and new 17" alloy wheels. Trunk cover and shark-anteena makes things super luxury.
Keep in mind that these so called new 17" wheels are basic wheels on Turbo in other countries while in North America these are discontinued for the face-lift/ model year 2019. In other words the wheel now offered by Atlas were / are on entry level Turbo Civic overseas. These are not RS varaint alloys.
No, there is no news about full digital cluster or any new infotainment system as per the brochure details I have till now. I am not very much confident about it and seems unlikely these feature will come.

So there had been a lot of excitement that RS Civic is coming and because bhai jaan there is a RS spoiler and RS badge. Honda Atlas also said " its first time in Pakistan". But this is NOT the first time we have seen such "Real Stupid" & "Real Silly " Upgrades. Honda Atlas is very expert in this for a very long time. Two RS badges one at front and one in rear does not make it a RS.
Although I appreciate Honda for bringing the LED headlights and the trunk cover but calling a super less equipped vehicle a RS is only deceiving. Sir, everyone is in possession of internet and everyone knows and can investigate and research. Don't make us fool.
Internationally RS is a variant with some visual enhancement + a long list of extra equipment which comes standard. RS does not have any different engine or power/ torque.
Countries where RS variant is sold gets following equipment which is maybe missing/ unavailable in PKDM Real Silly Civic ;
Different style 17" wheels
Full digital Cluster
Apple Car-play/ Android Auto.
Hdmi input. USB in front and centre console.
Full multi functional central armrest.
8 speaker audio system.
Multi function steering with phone and voice controls.
Dual zone climate control with Sync.
Auto dimming rear view mirror.
8 way power driver seat
4 way power passenger seat.
Lane watch cam [ passenger side mirror mounted]
Auto High Beam.
Honda sensing which includes
Collision Mitigation Braking System,
Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow,
Lane Keep Assist System,
Road Departure Mitigation System
with Lane Departure Warning.
6 airbags [ front +side ]
Rain sensing wipers.
Red stitched leather steering wheel.
Aluminum brake and accelerator paddle.
RS in certain countries also gets heated seats.
Although we dont get all above list , We should appreciate that PKDM Real Silly Civic , do get turbo and VTEC badge in addition to RS badge on the diggi/ trunk. The overseas RS miss on these badges and just have a simple RS badge.
Oh, PKDM do come with rear entertainment system. Poor overseas RS, it does not have it. But who cares.
Honda Atlas has been teasing Real Silly Civic ready to fly and obviously for the improved performance , car companies cut down on weight and extensively work towards aerodynamics like Huracรกn Performante, Aventador SVJ and many other hardcore light weight models. The wing spoiler on a Real Silly Civic is the true example as well as less equipment because less weight is priority.
Some true Honda fans believe that we might see another face-lift next year after Toyota launches 12th generation Corolla. I do agree to that.
If this is the case then what was the reason for this upcoming makeover ? May be calling it an updated civic and increasing the price??
Do you think we will see all these features later then ? Its too good to be true. Maybe Atlas add something funky and call it a new Civic.
