Seiko 5 Sports Launches a Limited Edition with Honda, Celebrating the Iconic Motocompo

To celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Motocompo, Japanese brands Seiko and Honda have released the HDB010 limited edition, a watch based on the compact Seiko 5 Sports Mid-Field Collection. Using the same 36.4mm diameter, 12.5mm thick and 44.4mm lug-to-lug steel case, it is distinguished by its matte black hard coating, and an equally black crown with the word “TURN” engraved on its side – inspired by the design of the fuel c**k. A Hardlex crystal protects the dial, and a mineral glass with dedicated logos is used on the back. Water-resistance is rated at 100m.

A limited edition of 8,000 pieces, available from September 2026, the Seiko 5 Sports x Honda Motocompo HDB010 will be delivered in a special box designed to resemble the corrugated carton used to ship the Motocompo. Its price remains to be confirmed, but it should be around EUR 400.

Honda has been offering leisure bikes that can be carried in cars, such as the Monkey, which features a folding handle, but Motocompo went even further than that. It turned out to be a motorcycle that was developed to be stored in the trunk of a small hatchback (four wheels) called the City. The body, which rests on small 8-inch front and rear wheels, is shaped like a block, with the steering wheel and seat protruding from the top. This is the driving mode, and when installed in the City's trunk, the steering wheel and seat were folded, leaving the top of the body completely flat. Furthermore, the total length of the Motocompo was less than 1.2m, which was 15cm shorter than the Monkey of the same age. It weighs 45 kg, so an adult could easily lift it. The engine is a 49cc air-cooled 2-stroke with a maximum output of 2.5ps. The price was 80,000 yen. The car name ''Motocompo'' is a coined word taken from moto (motorcycle) + component (component), but at the time, small stereo systems called ''minicompo'' were gaining popularity as a product category of home audio equipment.

1979 Honda Z50R

This Z50R received a complete ground-up restoration with meticulous attention to detail. Every part was disassembled, inspected, and rebuilt or replaced with OEM-spec components.

The frame and body feature flawless factory-correct red paint and a full set of authentic decals applied perfectly.
