Going to go deeper into why we had so much fun at Longines. The fact that it hasn’t moved around and has been around for 194 years so far gives them advantages we didn’t realize.

we finally see what the new Ferrari Luce is supposed to look like. We’ve had the technological discussions and the power train discussions and the design discussions for the interior. Now we see what it will should like going down the road. thoughts?

a few different iterations of the new Porsche Cayenne Electric. The white one is in the SUV configuration, the other two are Coupés. While the colors of details are strong in the second one with the attention-grabbing wheels and such, look at the first car. The paint pops when it gets hit by the light

so I’m trying to make cool driving shots of the new 911 Turbo S and I’m getting random philosophical thoughts from the guy who’s driving. The new 911 Turbo S is the most powerful one they’ve ever built. It uses a T Hybrid system, which has three different electric motors, two for the turbos and one inside the PDK system. It makes power delivery almost physically solid and linear. This is most evident (to me anyway) with the improved tuning of the suspension and steering that allow you to feel the 911 settle itself and kind of tell you it’s ready for more power in almost an instant as you make minute angle changes at speed on a curve

…and you don’t get a crown. This is a 41.5 mm stainless steel-case (dual tone with rose gold actually) time only watch. Minerva is the very historic company that was purchased by Montblanc, has helped Montblanc and now goes out on its own again (it will act as a distinct entity within the Montblanc Maison, sales will be through chosen Montblanc boutiques) with this as their launch piece. It is beautifully designed and created in the Minerva Manufacture in Villeret, where watchmakers still work on the pieces in the morning then go to their farms in the afternoon. Very interesting piece meant to be a “must-have” for Minerva collectors. Note this is a steel case watch, not sure how long that will be.

Taking people’s watches at 30,000 feet is fun 😇 The conversations included Royal Oaks and Offshores, Mont Blanc and the beauty of the handwound movements of Minerva, and a deep attempted explanation of Ulysses Nardin’s unusual but highly efficient winding system.

On the new Audi S5 Hybrid, this detail was more useful than i expected. A projected mark shows you where to kick to open the rear hatch, and inside the rear hatch you have a graphic explanation and a QR code to link to a video explanation on Youtube

Since everyone’s talking about Audemars Piguet in connection with Swatch, let’s talk about AP as AP and why we like them. We just saw two 2026 novelty pieces at Watches and Wonders from them, and they’re both similar and very different. They’re using the Royal Oak shape, but one is a double balance wheel watch in 18 karat yellow gold Ref. 15467BA.OO.1256BA.01, and the other is an Extra-Thin Jumbo in titanium with BMG or bulk metallic glass accents Ref. 16204XT.OO.1240XT.01. Both of these are openwork watches. So this is an example of why we like Audemars Piguet so much for their daring, but also their understanding of technology and history.
