The National Association of Second Hand Car Dealers, Phils., (NASHCAR) having a meeting with LTO Chief Operation Division, Kathleen Salayog, and her Team at the Executive Directors Room at the LTO Head Office last Sept. 16, 2026.

The discussion was focused on the current challenges faced by the Pre-owned Car Industry regarding transfer of ownership process and vehicles with LTO alarms, among others.

NASHCAR believes that this important meeting is the first step towards a successful outcome in terms of LTO transactions for the industry.

The NASHCAR Board of Directors and Members convened to discuss several important matters concerning the organization's continued growth and development.

The meeting began with the committee assignments and organizational updates, followed by discussions regarding the preparations and updates for the upcoming 15th Founding Anniversary Celebration.

The most significant part of the meeting focused on the planning and formulation of NASHCAR's membership rules, policies, and By-Laws. The Board recognized the importance of establishing clear standards and guidelines for membership acceptance, responsibilities, dues, participation, and overall conduct to ensure that the organization's integrity and credibility are protected as NASHCAR continues to grow.

🚗 ☑️ FLOODED VEHICLE? HERE ARE SOME TIPS:
1. Do not start or restart the vehicle.
Water may have entered the engine. Starting it can cause serious internal engine damage.
2. Move away from floodwater safely.
If the vehicle is still in rising water, prioritize your personal safety. Do not enter deep or moving floodwater to retrieve the vehicle.
3. Disconnect the battery
If you can do so safely and the vehicle is no longer in standing water.
4. Take photos and document the damage.
Record the water level, interior, engine bay, dashboard, and exterior. This can be useful for insurance and repair assessment.
5. Have the vehicle towed to a qualified mechanic.
Don't drive it even if the engine appears to work.
6. Have the engine and air intake checked first.
The mechanic should determine whether water entered the cylinders before attempting to crank or start the engine.
7. Inspect and replace contaminated fluids.
Engine oil, transmission/CVT fluid, differential oil and other fluids may need replacement depending on the depth and duration of flooding.
8. Check the electrical and safety systems.
Flooding can damage wiring, ECU/modules, sensors, fuses, power accessories, and airbags.
9. Dry the interior thoroughly.
Remove carpets and wet insulation where necessary. Floodwater left inside can quickly cause mold, corrosion, and unpleasant odors.
10. Have the brakes, wheel bearings, steering and suspension inspected.
