Cycle Seal FAQs ( frequently asked questions )

Q: What is Cycle Seal? A: Cycle Seal is a tire sealant formulated for motorcycle tires that are subject to hard conditions and heavy use. A: Cycle Seal prevents flats, saves fuel and extends the life of the tires. It seals the pores of the tires and so prevents air loss by puncture or leakage. Cycle Seal is quickly and e

asily installed through a tube dispenser. Installation time is just minutes per tire. Q: How does it seal a hole? A: When the vehicle is driven, Cycle Seal causes the entire inner surface of the tire to be coated. When an object penetrates the tread area, the air pressure within the tire forces the sealant into the hole. As the tire continues to turn, the hole is packed with the sealing agents. Q: Does a puncturing object need to be removed? A: Yes, even if Cycle Seal has sealed the punctured area. If left in the tire, the object will still move as the tire rotates; thereby, creating a larger hole. When the object is removed, be sure to ride the vehicle so that Cycle Seal will re-seal the hole. Q: How does Cycle Seal work in tube and tubeless tires? A: Cycle Seal will eliminate 85-95% of flats in tubeless tires from punctures up to 1/4" or 6mm (1/8” or 3mm for tube tires) in diameter of the tire. Cycle Seal’s efficiency in tube tires is reduced to 75-85% since puncturing objects may sometimes tear the tube. It is impossible for a tire sealant to seal a tear. It is vital to remove the puncturing object immediately from a tube tire to prevent further damage that can result in tearing. Q: Will Cycle Seal harm the wheels? Cycle Seal is chemically inert and will not attack the tire or wheels. It contains corrosion inhibitors which will protect the wheel’s treads and rim. Q: Will Cycle Seal run to the bottom of the tire when the vehicle is stopped? Cycle Seal contains specially selected binders which prevent this from happening. The sealant remains in place covering the interior surface of the tire. However, if a tire treated with Cycle Seal is stored for a prolonged period of time, some of it can eventually pool at the bottom. But, once the vehicle is driven for 3 to 5 kilometers, Cycle Seal will again re-coat the inner surface of the tire. Q: Will Cycle Seal dry out in the tire? Cycle Seal remains fluid as originally installed into the tire. Because the tire is a pressurized sealed container, no evaporation of the liquid can occur. Q: How long will Cycle Seal stay effective inside the tire? A: Cycle Seal will last the entire duration of the tire, generally 1.5 – 2 years. The integrity of natural rubber and plastics naturally decreases over time due to heat, UV exposure and natural degradation as a result of oxidation and bacterial attack. Notice the extraordinary packaging and warehousing of brand new tires. Hence, it is wise to replace tires and tubes after a couple of years. Q: Is Cycle Seal safe? A: Yes. Cycle Seal is non-toxic, non-flammable, non-explosive and biodegradable. Q: What area of the tire does Cycle Seal protect? What is the effectiveness in sealing punctures? A: Cycle Seal is not designed to protect the outside 1" of a tire's tread closest to the shoulder areas. The effectiveness in sealing punctures in the crown of the tire is an estimated 85-95 percent in tubeless tires. Effectiveness in puncture sealing drops to about 75-85 percent in tube tires, since there are two membranes involved and tubes may tear or rupture when punctured. Q: Where can we purchase Cycle Seal? A: Interested buyers may get their tires serviced at our respective dealers. Please refer to Cycle Seal’s Threads in Forum - Dealers for our list or email [email protected]. It will be continually updated as we are still looking for more dealers to service the public. You may contact Peter Garcia @ 0925 5555 430
Q: What is the right amount of Cycle Seal per tire? A: Current packaging is 200 ml or close to 7 oz per sachet. This is more than enough to cover a standard underbone tire ( 100mm tire width, rim 17...larger sized tires will need more sealant ) Please refer to the dosage table for different size tires. Another way is to compute for the dosage. Measure the tire’s WIDTH and HEIGHT (in mm, rim included). Multiply W x H and multiply this further by three (3). This should result to the amount in ml (the first 3 digits). For example, 80 mm (W) x 588 mm (H) x 3 = 141,120 or 141 ml.
