Sales of electrified vehicles (xEVs) in the country expanded by 146 percent from January to August, while sales of gas-powered vehicles continued to trend downward amid higher fuel prices.

Data from the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI) and the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) showed that their combined sales reached 271,336 units in the first eight months, down 11 percent from 305,381 units in the same period last year.
