Lets go! 🚘
Holiday trips are often measured in hours stuck on the road. Long lines. Heavy traffic. Missed dinners. This Christmas and New Year, motorists across Luzon may finally get a little breathing room.
According to Pampanga News Now, Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation led by Manuel V Pangilinan is stepping up preparations to make holiday travel smoother and safer. The focus is simple: help families spend less time driving and more time together.
Major expressways used by many Capampáng̃an families—NLEX, SCTEX, NLEX Connector, CAVITEX, and CALAX—will suspend roadworks, open all toll lanes, and deploy full traffic and emergency teams. Counterflow lanes and free towing services are also ready during peak hours.
The biggest relief comes during the holidays themselves. Toll-free passages are scheduled late at night on December 24 until early December 25, and again from December 31 until early January 1. These hours are meant to ease the rush of Christmas Eve and New Year travel.
Before heading out, motorists are reminded to check that their RFID accounts are active and loaded. A little preparation can mean a smoother drive—especially for those heading to and from Pampanga during the busiest travel days of the year.
