There’s no denying Filipinos like their big SUVs. You’ll find that most mainstream brands carry a midsized diesel pick-up based SUV and see that they dominate our roads. At a time when SUVs are becoming increasingly complicated, with hybrid systems, multiple screens and electronic everything, the GWM Haval H9 is straightforward, it sticks to a formula that Philippine SUV buyers already understand: a big body, a diesel engine, seven seats and four-wheel drive. But GWM adds just enough technology and comfort to make sure it doesn't feel dated.

GWM Philippines shattered its monthly sales record in August 2026, delivering 232 vehicles to local buyers. That is more than double the brand's previous high water mark of 100 units, set just two months earlier in June. Much of this explosive growth belongs to the newly introduced Haval H7. The midsize SUV has fast become a crowd favorite, winning over Filipino motorists by balancing premium features and solid performance against a highly aggressive price tag.

But a spike in sales requires stronger structural backing. To keep this momentum alive, GWM is working behind the scenes with its dealer network to smooth out supply chains, boost vehicle availability, and sharpen its after-sales support. The goal is simple: ensure that the influx of new owners actually enjoy their long-term ownership experience.

Moving forward, the carmaker has no plans to slow down. As GWM expands its local lineup, it remains anchored to the exact strategy that fueled its August breakthrough—offering tech-heavy, practical vehicles that don't force buyers to compromise on value.
