In a race engine size, weight and tire grip makes a huge difference in winning by an inch or losing by a mile.
MRC x Team LEWY Performance used Nitto’s street tires during the recent Petron Makabayan Endurance Challenge Series 2023, while the other teams used racing tires.
Though the conditions weren’t 100% suitable for racing due to the rain, the event continued. Nitto’s sponsored team won using Nitto’s street tires specifically NITTO NT555G2. Guess who won?

Your hazard lights are primarily used as indicator to give the vehicle behind you foresight that there is a vehicle stalled in front of them. This gives the vehicle behind you a visible warning that they should avoid said vehicle.

So why is it inappropriate to use hazard lights when there is a heavy downpour, especially on a highway? You are telling other drivers that your car is stalled during a heavy downpour but yet you are moving. You are sending the wrong signal to other drivers.

The most appropriate thing to do is turn on your headlights this also opens up your tail lights to give you extra visibility during a downpour. Freeing up your turning signals to let other vehicles know your movements before changing lanes!
