After cleaning the transmission pan and strainer, I decided to go all the way and have the ATF changed through dialysis.

They used 12 liters of Shell Spirax S5 ATF X Synthetic. Seeing how dark the old ATF was, plus the amount of dirt and sludge we found in the pan and strainer, I’d say this service was long overdue. 😅

Spent around ₱8,000 for the ATF dialysis, labor, and 12L of ATF, plus ₱1,100 for the pan removal and strainer cleaning.

Not cheap, but at least I know the transmission got the proper cleanup it needed. 🔧

One less thing to worry about on this old Pajero. 💯

You never really know what’s hiding inside until you drop the transmission pan. 😮‍💨

Years of dirt, sludge, and debris built up inside — even the transmission filter was filthy, with grit that looked like sand.

Pan cleaned, filter serviced, and everything properly flushed out. ✅

This is why preventive maintenance matters, especially on an old-school Pajero. One step closer to bringing the transmission back to its best condition. 💯

No more shifting issues — smooth and responsive again.

₱15,000 for the TPS + ₱1,500 calibration. Not cheap, but definitely worth it. 💯
