beef, broccoli, and mushroom fried rice recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 8 ounces sliced mushrooms
- 3 cups cooked rice (preferably day-old)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (or more, to taste)
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional garnishes: sliced green onions, sesame seeds
Instructions:
1. Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, mix the sliced beef with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce and cornstarch. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
2. Stir-fry the Beef: Heat 1 tablespoon of cooking oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry until browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
3. Cook Vegetables: Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of cooking oil to the skillet. Add the broccoli florets and sliced mushrooms and stir-fry until tender-crisp.
4. Add Rice and Seasonings: Push the vegetables to one side of the skillet. Add the minced garlic and cooked rice to the skillet. Break up any clumps of rice and stir-fry for a few minutes.
5. Combine: Add the cooked beef back into the skillet with the rice and vegetables. Pour in 1/4 cup of soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), and sesame oil. Stir-fry everything together until well combined and heated through.
6. Season and Serve: Season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds, if desired. Serve hot.
