The "Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA)" system is an advanced safety feature found in all Volvo cars. This system is designed to help prevent or reduce the severity of frontal collisions. Here’s how it generally works:

Detection: The FCA system uses sensors, typically cameras and radar, to monitor the area in front of the vehicle. These sensors can detect other vehicles, pedestrians, and sometimes even cyclists.

Stage 1: Warning- If the system determines that a collision is imminent, it will issue a warning to the driver. This warning can be auditory (a beeping sound), visual (a light on the dashboard), or haptic (a vibration in the steering wheel or seat).

Stage 2: Assistance/Autonomous Emergency Braking- If the driver does not take action to avoid the collision, the system can automatically apply the brakes to reduce the vehicle's speed and potentially avoid the collision or lessen its impact.

The FCA system is a part of a broader category of technologies known as Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), which are designed to enhance vehicle safety and driving comfort.
In the video, the Volvo car depicts the FCA system in action. The vehicle in front is being detected by the sensors, and the system is prepared to take action if necessary to prevent a collision.
