For the Philippines, a nation plagued by pollution from unclean vehicle emissions and an economic burden of importing oil, the electric vehicle is a clear necessity for social progress. The Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (eVAP) acknowledges the need to shift society towards the use of cleaner electric vehicles for the future of this nation, and works to accelerate this conversion.

EVAP recently met with Senate President Win Gatchalian to strengthen the partnership between industry and government in building a sustainable transport future for the Philippines. The meeting was led by Pres. W***y Tee Ten (3rd from L) alongside (L-R) Past Pres. Edmund Araga, Treas. Kevin Yao, Chairman Rommel Juan, Corp. Sec Mark Rola, and Auditor Jojo Conde.

The discussion centered on building on the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act (EVIDA) to reflect the country's growing EV demand amid the ongoing fuel crisis, as well as strengthening implementation on the ground — particularly in building the charging and support infrastructure Filipino motorists need.

We are also grateful for the Senate's continued support as we gear up for the Philippine EV Summit (PEVS), happening October 22–24, 2026 at SMX Convention Center in Manila. The summit is expected to bring in EV players across different industries spanning mobility, energy, infrastructure, and more.

VinFast Accelerates Philippine Expansion, Targets Over 100 E-Motorcycle Showrooms by Year-End

VinFast has officially launched its electric motorcycle ecosystem in the Philippines, opening 21 pioneer showrooms nationwide alongside the debut of three new models: the Evo, Feliz II, and Viper. This milestone marks a significant step in the company's expansion across one of Southeast Asia's largest two-wheeler markets, and comes on the heels of a strong early booking program that drew thousands of customers.

According to VinFast E-Scooter Philippines CEO Niño Fabros, the company aims to grow its current network from 21 to over 100 showrooms nationwide before the end of the year. Each dealership is designed as an all-in-one destination offering product displays, test rides, one-minute battery-swapping demonstrations, home-charging solutions, and after-sales support, all part of VinFast's broader push to build a comprehensive green mobility ecosystem in the country.

This rapid rollout underscores VinFast's long-term investment commitment to the Philippines and its confidence in the growing demand for accessible, sustainable transportation among Filipino commuters.

"We have removed all tariffs on EVs until 2028 to bring down market prices and government has also been mandated to prioritize electric vehicles and their refleeting plants. This clean and green policy is two-pronged. It shall also spur growth of our domestic local industries across the EV value chain, specifically those involved in the vehicle assembly and manufacturing of batteries and related spare parts."
