By offering a standard petrol engine alongside a highly efficient Super Hybrid System (SHS) plug-in variant, Jaecoo perfectly rode a massive wave of consumer demand. Plug-in hybrid sales across the UK spiked by over 55 percent in September, and the J7 was right there to reap the rewards. This explosive month completely resets the leaderboard.
The Jaecoo J7 is now the second best-selling car in the UK for 2026 overall. With 39,473 year-to-date sales, it sits just 3,453 units behind the leading Ford Puma. Backed by a rapidly growing 122-dealer network, Jaecoo is no longer just an alternative option—it is actively hunting for the absolute crown of Britain’s car of the year.
