Overall impression of the Nissan Kicks.
It would probably be the best hybrid if you go for City Driving considering it's price point.
It's all electric meaning it's really the battery doing all the work.
The gas what charges the battery. It's not moving the car. It's main function is to charge the main battery.
So there's no range anxiety since you don't have to plug it in at charging stations or your home.
I believe this is the only hybrid car (as of now) built this way according to what I've been told that's available to us here. Don't quote me on this.
The current function of hybrid cars is the battery takes over at a particular speed, but the gas is what initially will get you there.
The kicks has a very interesting setup based on the hybrid cars that are currently available to us in the Philippines.
What's really cool is that it has an 8 year warranty.
For me, if I was going mostly city driving, I'd go for this. Especially for it's price point. It's the most value for money in my opinion.
But currently, I'm more likely to go for a CRV as of now because of two reasons in my case.
I am not a city driver. Most of our drives are long distances. Nuvali to Manila mostly on the highway.
The CRV has a diesel variant. I really want to try a diesel car and we are familiar with maintaining vehicles like this in the Philippines.
Main reason, we are going for a car that would replace my wife's car that I can use for long trips.
When my wife is driving I would feel much safer with her driving a bigger car than this and the CRV has a 5 star NCAP rating.
So should my wife drive, I'll be at ease with her driving long distances and should I use the CRV for my long distance events, since I had a major car accident in the past on the freeway, my wife will be at ease if we were to use it for trips like Baguio.
I'll share my initial impression on the Terra as well.
