RC CAR JARGONS PART 6

TIRES AND WHEELS

Kung nagbabalak kang magpalit ng RC tires o wheels, huwag diameter lang ang tinitingnan.

Eto ang mga terms na dapat alam mo.

TIRE DIAMETER

Ito ang overall height ng tire mula sa isang dulo hanggang sa kabilang dulo.

Halimbawa:

106mm 110mm 4.19 inches 4.75 inches

Mas malaking tire can increase ground clearance, pero maaari ring magdagdag ng load sa drivetrain.

TIRE WIDTH

Ito ang lapad ng tire.

Mas malapad na tire can provide a larger contact area, pero maaaring magkaroon ng rubbing sa body o suspension.

TIRE COMPOUND

Ito ang formulation ng rubber ng tire.

May soft, medium at harder compounds.

Soft compounds generally provide more grip, pero maaaring mas mabilis ma-wear.

SIDEWALL

Ito ang side portion ng tire.

Ang flexibility ng sidewall ay may malaking epekto sa kung paano nagde-deform ang tire kapag dumadaan sa rocks at obstacles.

FOAM INSERT

Insert na nasa loob ng tire.

Nagbibigay ito ng support sa tire at sidewall.

Iba't ibang foam density at design can significantly change tire performance.

SILICONE INSERT

Alternative sa traditional foam insert.

Usually mas supportive at consistent ang shape ng tire, depende sa design.

BEADLOCK

Wheel design na humahawak sa bead ng tire gamit ang ring at screws.

Isa sa advantage nito ay puwedeng palitan ang tire nang hindi gumagamit ng tire glue, depende sa wheel design.

BEAD

Ito ang edge ng tire na nakaupo sa wheel.

Ito ang part na hinahawakan ng wheel para manatiling nakakabit ang tire.

WHEEL OFFSET

Distance ng wheel mounting surface mula sa centerline ng wheel.

Nakakaapekto ito sa kung gaano kalabas o kalalim ang position ng wheel.

BACKSPACING

Distance mula sa inner edge ng wheel papunta sa mounting surface.

Importanteng factor ito kapag chine-check kung tatama ang wheel sa suspension components.

HEX

Small hexagonal interface na nagko-connect sa wheel at axle.

Common sizes include:

7mm 12mm 14mm 17mm

Dapat compatible ang wheel hex sa RC mo.

HUB

Center portion ng wheel kung saan nakakabit ang wheel sa axle.

Some wheels use replaceable hubs para baguhin ang offset.

TIRE RUB

Kapag ang tire ay sumasayad sa body, suspension o chassis habang umaandar o naka-steer.

Common ito kapag nag-install ng mas malaking tires.

TIRE CRAWL

Kapag ang tire ay nagde-deform at umaakyat o dumidikit sa obstacle habang gumagapang ang RC.

Makikita ito lalo na sa soft tires at flexible sidewalls.

ROTATIONAL WEIGHT

Weight ng tires, wheels at other rotating components.

Mas mabigat na rotating weight can require more torque at can affect acceleration and motor load.

TIRE WEIGHT

Kabuuang bigat ng tire.

Hindi lang size ang importante.

Two tires na parehong 110mm ay maaaring magkaiba nang malaki ang weight.

BEADLOCK RING

Ring na humahawak sa tire bead sa beadlock wheel.

May ibang wheels na functional beadlock at may iba namang decorative lamang ang ring.

TIRE INSERT TUNING

Pagpili ng tamang insert para sa terrain at setup.

Soft insert Mas madaling mag-flex

Firm insert Mas maraming sidewall support

Dual stage Pinagsasama ang iba't ibang density o support zones.

TIRE ROTATION

Pag-ikot ng tire sa wheel para sa maintenance o wear management.

Hindi lahat ng RC tires ay nangangailangan nito, pero useful ito para sa long-term tire maintenance.

TIRE SIZE

Kapag sinabi na:

1.9 2.2 4.19 4.75

Hindi lahat ay tumutukoy sa tire diameter.

Halimbawa, ang 1.9 at 2.2 sa crawler tires ay karaniwang tumutukoy sa compatible wheel diameter.

Kaya importante na basahin ang COMPLETE tire specifications.

RC TIP:

Bago bumili ng aftermarket tires, check muna:

Tire diameter Tire width Wheel size Hex size Offset Weight Compound Foam or insert compatibility

At pinakaimportante:

Huwag isipin na MAS MALAKI = MAS MAGANDA.

Ang tamang tire size ay depende sa RC, terrain, gearing, motor, clearance at driving style.

RC CAR JARGONS PART 5

DRIVETRAIN AND GEAR TERMS

Kung nag-uupgrade ka ng motor, transmission o axle, kailangan alam mo rin ang mga terms na ito.

1. PINION GEAR

Maliit na gear na nakakabit sa motor.

Ito ang unang gear na nagta-transfer ng power mula sa motor papunta sa drivetrain.

2. SPUR GEAR

Mas malaking gear na nakakabit sa drivetrain.

Kasama ng pinion gear, malaking factor ito sa gearing ng RC.

3. GEAR RATIO

Relationship ng pinion at spur gears kasama ang ibang gears sa drivetrain.

Gearing affects the balance between speed, torque at motor load.

4. HIGH GEARING

Setup na mas nakatuon sa speed.

Karaniwang mas mataas ang top speed pero mas mataas din ang load sa motor depende sa application.

5. LOW GEARING

Setup na mas nakatuon sa torque at control.

Common ito sa crawling dahil mas madaling kontrolin ang RC sa mababang speed.

6. TRANSMISSION

Assembly na naglalaman ng gears na nagta-transfer ng power mula sa motor papunta sa drivetrain.

7. DRIVETRAIN

Lahat ng components na nagta-transfer ng power mula motor papunta sa wheels.

Kasama dito ang transmission, driveshafts, axles, gears at differential depende sa design.

8. DRIVESHAFT

Shaft na nagta-transfer ng rotational power mula transmission papunta sa axle.

9. AXLE

Assembly na naglalaman ng components na nagta-transfer ng power papunta sa wheels.

Sa maraming crawler, nandito rin ang differential gears.

10. DIFFERENTIAL

Mechanism na nagpapahintulot sa left at right wheels na umikot sa magkaibang speed habang lumiliko.

Useful ito sa smoother turning.

11. LOCKED DIFFERENTIAL

Differential na naka-lock para parehong wheels ay mas sabay umikot.

Common ito sa RC crawlers dahil nagbibigay ito ng traction kapag uneven ang terrain.

12. OPEN DIFFERENTIAL

Differential na pinapayagan ang left at right wheels na magkaroon ng different rotational speeds.

Mas smooth sa turning pero maaaring mawalan ng traction kapag isang wheel ay may limited grip.

13. OVERDRIVE

Setup kung saan mas mabilis ang rotation ng front wheels kumpara sa rear wheels.

Madalas ginagamit sa crawlers para makatulong sa climbing at turning sa technical terrain.

14. UNDERDRIVE

Setup kung saan mas mabagal ang rear wheels kumpara sa front wheels.

Maaari itong gamitin para baguhin ang handling at drivetrain behavior.

15. FINAL DRIVE RATIO

Overall gear reduction bago makarating ang power sa wheels.

Mas mataas na numerical final drive ratio generally means more torque multiplication at lower wheel speed.

16. GEAR MESH

Ito ang proper engagement ng pinion at spur gear.

Kapag masyadong tight, maaaring magdagdag ng friction at heat.

Kapag masyadong loose, maaaring magkaroon ng gear wear o stripping.

17. GEAR SLIPPING

Kapag hindi maayos na nag-e-engage ang gears at nawawala ang proper power transfer.

Maaari itong sanhi ng damaged gears, incorrect gear mesh o loose components.

18. GEAR STRIPPING

Kapag nasira o nakain ang teeth ng gear.

Possible causes:
Excessive load
Poor gear mesh
Debris
Overheating
Weak or damaged gears

19. METAL GEARS

Gears made from metal materials.

Usually mas durable under high loads pero maaari ring mas mabigat at mas mahal.

20. PLASTIC GEARS

Gears made from plastic or composite materials.

Mas magaan at maaaring mas tahimik pero depende sa design at application ang durability.

RC TIP:

Kapag nagpalit ka ng motor, huwag motor lang ang isipin.

Check mo rin:

Motor KV
Battery voltage
Pinion size
Spur size
Gear ratio
ESC capability
Motor temperature

Mas mabilis na motor does not automatically mean mas magandang setup.

Sa crawler, minsan mas importante ang smooth control at tamang gearing kaysa maximum speed.

RC CAR JARGONS PART 4

Ngayon naman, pag-usapan natin ang mga terms sa RC electronics at batteries na madalas nakakalito sa beginners.

1. VOLTAGE OR VOLTS

Voltage ang electrical pressure ng battery.

Halimbawa:
2S = 7.4V nominal
3S = 11.1V nominal

Mas mataas na voltage can allow higher motor speed, depende sa motor at ESC.

2. 2S / 3S / 4S

Ang S ay number of cells na connected in series.

2S = 2 cells
3S = 3 cells
4S = 4 cells

Mas maraming cells means mas mataas na voltage.

3. LiPo

Lithium Polymer battery.

Common sa RC dahil mataas ang power output at magaan kumpara sa ibang battery types.

4. Li-ion

Lithium-ion battery.

Usually mas mataas ang energy density pero generally mas mababa ang maximum discharge capability kumpara sa high-performance LiPo packs.

5. LiFePO4

Lithium Iron Phosphate battery.

Mas mababa ang nominal voltage kaysa LiPo pero kilala sa stability at long cycle life.

6. MAH

Milliamp-hour.

Ito ang capacity ng battery.

Halimbawa:
2200mAh
5000mAh

Mas mataas na mAh generally means mas malaking energy capacity, pero mas mabigat din ang battery sa maraming cases.

7. C RATING

Ang C rating ay indication ng maximum discharge capability ng battery.

Halimbawa:
5000mAh 50C

Hindi ibig sabihin na automatic na 50 times better ang battery.

Importanteng tingnan ang actual battery specifications at application.

8. BALANCE PLUG

Connector na ginagamit para ma-monitor at ma-balance ang individual cells ng multi-cell battery.

Important ito kapag nagba-balance charge ng LiPo batteries.

9. BALANCE CHARGING

Charging method kung saan mino-monitor at bina-balance ng charger ang voltage ng individual cells.

10. STORAGE VOLTAGE

Voltage level kung saan dapat i-store ang LiPo battery kapag hindi gagamitin nang matagal.

Para sa typical LiPo, around 3.8V per cell ang common storage target.

11. ESC

Electronic Speed Controller.

Ito ang nagko-control sa power papunta sa motor.

May ESCs na compatible sa specific battery voltage, motor type at current requirements.

12. BEC

Battery Eliminator Circuit.

Nagbibigay ito ng regulated voltage para sa receiver, servo at iba pang electronics.

13. UBEC

External or standalone BEC.

Ginagamit kapag kailangan mo ng mas mataas o mas stable na current output para sa servo at electronics.

14. KV

KV rating ng brushless motor ay roughly related sa RPM per volt under no-load conditions.

Halimbawa:

2000KV × 7.4V = approximately 14,800 RPM no-load

Hindi ito direct measurement ng torque.

15. AMPS OR CURRENT

Ang current ay sinusukat sa Amps.

Mas mataas na load sa motor can require more current.

Ito ang dahilan kung bakit importanteng compatible ang ESC, motor at battery.

16. XT60 / XT30 / DEANS

Mga common battery connectors.

Magkakaiba ang size, current capability at physical design.

17. CUTOFF VOLTAGE

Safety feature ng ESC para bawasan o ihinto ang power kapag masyado nang mababa ang battery voltage.

Importanteng setting ito lalo na sa LiPo batteries.

18. SENSORED

Brushless system na gumagamit ng sensors para malaman ng ESC ang motor position.

Usually mas smooth ang low-speed operation.

19. SENSORLESS

Brushless system na walang motor position sensors.

Mas simple ang setup pero maaaring magkaroon ng ibang low-speed characteristics kumpara sa sensored system.

20. FOC

Field Oriented Control.

Control method para sa brushless motor na nagbibigay ng mas precise at smooth na motor control.

Particularly useful sa crawling dahil importanteng magkaroon ng smooth throttle control sa mababang speed.

RC TIP:

Huwag battery voltage lang ang tingnan kapag nag-uupgrade.

Dapat compatible ang:

Battery voltage
ESC
Motor
BEC
Servo
Connectors

Halimbawa, kung 3S capable ang motor pero 2S-only ang ESC mo, hindi ibig sabihin na safe na gamitin ang 3S battery.

Always check the manufacturer's specifications bago mag-upgrade.
