Why Do Evaporator Coils Leak?

Corrosion (Most Common)
Moisture and chemicals in the air slowly eat the copper tubing, creating tiny holes where refrigerant escapes.

Vibration & Wear
Constant expansion, contraction, and vibration of the unit can create hairline cracks over time.

Why Is an Evaporator Leak a Big Deal?

Even the smallest hole can let refrigerant escape. Once levels drop:
• Cooling becomes weak
• Ice forms on the coil
• The compressor can get damaged — leading to costly repairs
