ATTENTION to all Mitsubishi clients and friends
If your vehicle has been affected by flooding, please follow these important steps to prevent further damage:
1. Do not start the engine.
If water entered the cylinders, attempting to start the car can cause severe engine damage.
2. Disconnect the battery (only if safe).
This helps prevent electrical shorts or possible fire hazards.
3. Check how high the water reached:
• Floor only: likely minor interior and electrical cleaning
• Seats or dashboard: possible serious electrical/mechanical issues — call a professional
• Above dashboard: high likelihood of major damage
4. Document the damage for insurance.
Take clear photos and videos of the exterior, interior, and visible waterline.
5. Contact your insurance company immediately.
Inform them the vehicle was flooded and ask for instructions.
(Comprehensive insurance commonly covers flood damage.)
6. Tow the vehicle — do not drive it.
Have it brought to an authorized service center for engine, transmission, and electrical inspection.
7. Begin drying the interior.
Open doors and windows, remove mats, and use fans or dehumidifiers if available.
