LOOK: From Smart Agriculture Technology to Real Harvest Results

Yesterday, June 3, 2026, the Japanese melon harvest at the Luneta Urban Garden demonstrated what is possible when innovation, education, and strong partnerships come together.

The event was attended by key project leaders: Department of Agriculture Undersecretary Cheryl Marie “Ching” Caballero (High Value Crops Development Program), National Parks Development Committee Executive Director Cecille Lorenzana-Romero, and DNPH President Yuji Torii. It was further graced by Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” M. Domagoso and Department of the Interior and Local Government Assistant Secretary Elizabeth N. Lopez De Leon.

This initiative showcases how urban agriculture can be transformed into a scalable and practical model for food security—one that is ready to be replicated across cities and communities nationwide.

Powered by DNPH’s Automated Nutrient Dosing System and sustained through structured farmer training and standardized work methods, the Luneta Urban Garden proves that technology + education unlock real, measurable results in urban farming.

Building on this success, DNPH warmly invites Local Government Units (LGUs), national government agencies, private organizations, and individuals to partner with us in bringing this model to their own communities. With the continued collaboration of the Department of Agriculture and the National Parks Development Committee, we are committed to scaling this initiative nationwide.

Together, we can transform idle spaces into productive urban farms, empower communities with new skills and livelihoods, and inspire more Filipinos to enter smart farming.
