SlowSurge together with Agaw Sanaao, Group of Environmental Socialists, Inc. (GOES Inc.), Butlak Banaag Mountaineering Society Inc. (BBMSI), Green Alert Network and DENR CENRO/PASu-NNNP will have an event titled “A Walk to Remember”.

Did you know that the most outstanding organic farmers are from Patag? and did you know that Patag is one of the largest producers of organic farming in Negros Island?

Inline with the celebration of environmental month, we stride to reminisce the history of Patag and the achievements of its community. The objective of this event is to remember what Patag used to be before it was declared as a protected area and to raise awareness to the importance of the farmers, forest and to see current status of the Barangay.

We invite you to come walk with us. If you can’t walk, run or cycle your way up and meet us there. On the 26th of June we will talk about the history and importance of Patag. There will be other talks about protected areas, first mountaineering activities and more. See you there!

1:30AM - Eldon Nonato - History of BBMS and how Danao/Tinagong Dagat was discovered
2:00PM - Ernie Mallorca - What is Etrek and how it was conceptualized/created
2:30PM - GOES/DENR - Protected areas
3:00PM - Drafting of collective statements and open forum
3:30PM - Closing remarks
4:00PM onwards - Dinner and Rest
