The lion dance (舞獅) is performed during Chinese New Year to usher in prosperity, luck, and joy for the coming year while chasing away evil spirits and negative energy. Rooted in ancient folklore, the energetic, acrobatic performance uses loud drums and cymbals to start the new year on a positive, vibrant note. Thank you Bacolod Chamber Volunteer Fire for gracing us every year with your team of lion dancers.
