X5 vs RX?

The BMW X5 50e M Sport and Lexus RX500h F Sport Performance each bring their own personality to the road, and with pricing this close (thank you, EV/Hybrid tax law), it genuinely feels like the universe is telling you to get both. After all, if you’re choosing between them, chances are you can comfortably swing the other one, too.

The X5 is that raw, engaging kind of power you never have to ask twice for; nearly 500 hp from the B58 inline-6 turbo hybrid setup just delivers, anchored by adaptive air suspension that keeps everything refined when you’re not in the mood to play. Harman/Kardon holds its own, but let’s be real. If BMW PH offered Bowers & Wilkins as an option like other markets, it would complete the whole “German luxury soundtrack” experience, especially when the Mark Levinson system in the Lexus is already operating at god-tier clarity.

The RX500h, meanwhile, is classic Lexus: smooth, composed with its Adaptive Variable Suspension, and quietly confident. Just under 400 hp from its T24A-FTS 4- cylinder turbo-hybrid setup, efficient without ever feeling dull perfect for days when you want comfort without sacrificing performance.

One car whispers, the other is loud, but both have presence.

Can’t pick? Don’t overthink it. One gives you the rush, the other gives you the reset. Balance is king.
