Bit of a love letter to Viking Kayaks today.

Our core fleet of yaks are all NZ-made, and we're fortunate enough to feature some Vikings in there alongside a few Ocean Kayak models too. As you might well imagine, hire kayaks get put through the ringer, and the longevity and ongoing performance of our Viking yaks demonstrates the exceptional quality of their design and build.

Through our convos with the awesome Jessica, we learned that a factory fire almost cost them the business some years ago. Thankfully they survived, and came back better than ever.

Viking are super well known for their superb fishing yaks, but for our money, you can't go past a Pacer, Espri, Ozzie or 2+1 for absolute recreational goodness.

Great New Zealanders!

PS - Hey Viking, any time you need a Northland testing base, you know we're well up for it 😉🤣

A lovely family came all the way from Liverpool to kayak the bay with us on the NZ stop of their world tour. A gorgeous mild (for August!) day with absolute glass all afternoon. They climbed Motukiore, yakked through the "Cave" tree and ended up paddling for 8km total! No dolphins or Orca and the seal was busy further up the river, but a great time was had nonetheless.

Wonderful clients and we're very grateful to them for sharing photos of the day.

Saw a pod of dolphins this morning from the house. Shot down to the beach to grab a yak and give chase....too slow!

Loads of Mantaray activity in the lagoon at the moment so Dolphin and Orca are coming in to investigate. Pretty exciting to have them here in July...

Photos or it didn't happen but one badly timed grainy shot of ripples from up the hill is all I have to share....Boo!

Kayak hire off the beach is on this weekend, at Parua Bay.
**Special rate - Only $20 per paddler per hour!

Find us on the foreshore between the public and sailing club boat ramps on Saturday 10am-2pm and Sunday 8am-2pm.

Come for an adventure in the bay, have an explore, work out that torso, or paddle to the pub for a feed!
