❄️ With winter delivering us some of those incredible cold frosty mornings with clear blue skies and calm blue oceans, who's been hankering for a midwinter fish? 🎣💙

✋️Before you head out, make sure your boat batteries are ready to go.

Not sure how they're holding up? Bring them into WBC for a FREE battery health check. It's quick, easy, and could save you from an unwanted surprise on the water. 🔋🚤

🛟If your boat's spending more time in the shed than on the sea over winter, a trickle charger is one of the best ways to keep your batteries healthy, fully charged, and ready to fire up when the weather's too good to miss.😎

Because once you're out there, the only flat you want is the sea! ⚓🌊

Heads up folks. Take extra care when using the Wharf street ramp to launch from

If you’re heading to the Wharf Street boat ramp at Whanganui Port from next week, a heads-up that ID Loader will be carrying out work along the nearby rock wall.

This work will help to protect the bank from scour erosion and help to maintain a straighter channel at the end of the boat ramp.

The existing rocks and concrete blocks will be removed and repositioned to connect with the existing rock revetment. Once complete, it will provide better access to the end of the launch ramp.

Work is scheduled to get underway on Thursday, 16 July. The slipway will remain open and available as usual throughout the work.

To keep everyone safe, part of the car park will be temporarily fenced off for around eight weeks. There will still be limited parking available on site.

We know this may be a little inconvenient for regular boat ramp users and recreational fishers and we appreciate your patience.

Please take care around the work site and follow all temporary signage.

Thanks for your support.

🦈 What was with the sharks today, Whanganui? 🦈

🤔We weren't the only ones scratching our heads. Talking to others back at the ramp, it sounds like it was a tough day for chilly bins all round!

Our crew hauled up 7 sharks, while the snapper were notably absent — with only one lonely snapper making it into the bin.

🌊That said, not every trip is about a full chilly bin. The sky was blue, the sea was glassy, and there are certainly worse places to spend a day than out on the water with good company and a rod in hand.🎣

🚤How did everyone else get on out there? Were the sharks keeping you busy too?
