It’s official — Spyder by XtremeX is officially underway.

There’s still plenty of work to do before launch — compliance, building the booking and management systems, finalising the experiences, and of course, building the fleet.

But we’ve now taken a pretty important first step.

We’re just finalising the purchase of our first Spyder car — a BMW Z4 2.5L M Sport roadster.

The current shortlist for the rest of the fleet includes:

* Mercedes-Benz SLK200 1.8 Turbo
* Mercedes-Benz SLK200 AMG 1.8 Turbo
* Mazda MX-5 (2015 MY)

We’re aiming to be ready around late November, assuming the compliance work and supporting systems are all completed in time.

And this is where we want your input.

If there’s a roadster or convertible you think would be perfect for Spyder, drop it in the comments below. There may be something great we’ve completely missed.

Sadly, we did miss the boat on the Fiat 124 Spider this time around 😭

More updates coming as the fleet starts to take shape.

And…… GrabOne is back with a little XtremeX supercar flavour! 🏎️🔥

We’re genuinely excited to be partnering with GrabOne again and to see them back doing what they do best, finding awesome experiences and deals for Kiwis right across New Zealand.

GrabOne has always been great for XtremeX and, more importantly, great for our customers. Over the years they’ve helped introduce plenty of people to us who may never have otherwise discovered just how much fun a supercar experience can be.

So yep… we’re back on GrabOne! 🙌

This time you’ll find XtremeX experiences featuring our two McLarens, the 570S Spider and the 12C Spyder, ready to give even more people the chance to experience something a little bit different.

We’re looking forward to reaching all those hidden supercar lovers around New Zealand… and probably a few people who didn’t realise they were supercar lovers yet. 😂

Something new is taking shape at XtremeX 👀

We’re exploring a new offshoot of XtremeX called SPYDER, focused on creating a completely different kind of automotive experience.

And just to clarify 😂 this is NOT XtremeX making our supercars self-drive. The McLarens are staying exactly where they belong!

SPYDER is about the wider sports and enthusiast car world. Lightweight, open-top, character-filled cars that are genuinely fun to drive, without needing to be supercars.

We’re trying to do something a little different again, and right now SPYDER is in its final market-validation stage. Nothing has been committed to yet. We’re testing real customer interest before making decisions around the fleet, pricing and launch format.

The Abarth 124 Spider and Mazda MX-5 are two cars we’ve shortlisted because they’re renowned for their driving experience, but even those aren’t locked in.
