EXCITING NEWS: We've been busy around here over the past few months relaunching Autec Auto Electrical. You'll still find STR where we've been for the past 11 years providing WOFs, servicing, mechanical repairs and diagnostics; and now Autec across the road providing full auto electrical diagnostics, repairs and installs. Both doing what they do best!

CLOSED FOR LONG WEEKEND: We are now closed until Monday at 8am to celebrate the Matariki Public holiday. Don't forget to stop and enjoy the stars at some point this weekend.

NOTE: You are welcome to leave breakdowns over this period - our carpark has security lighting and is monitored by 24hr survelliance however, as your vehicle is left at your own risk, we do recommend your vehicle is insured. Please use our key drop box system outside our office, which will be regularly cleared over the weekend.

CLOSED FOR ANZAC LONG WEEKEND: We are now closed until 8am Tuesday in recognition of the lasting significance of Anzac Day. You are welcome to leave us a message via phone 094223222 or email [email protected].

Breakdowns can be left with us over this period with the keys left in our lockbox system. This will be regularly cleared over the weekend and for added peace of mind our premises are also under 24hr camera surveillance. We do suggest you have at least 3rd party insurance as vehicles are left at owners risk.

Have a safe Anzac weekend however you choose to remember...🌺

ROAD CLOSURE: For those heading Orewa direction today, avoid Waiwera. Tolls on motorway have been temporarily stopped while this slip is cleared and stabilised. Drive safe out there in these wet conditions.

HIBISCUS COAST HIGHWAY, HATFIELDS TO PUHOI - SLIP - FULL CLOSURE BOTH DIRECTIONS – UPDATE 5:00PM

The road has now reopened. Tolling will be restored on SH1 ^KF

The road remains closed. Continue to detour via SH1 ^KF

UPDATE 7:45PM

The road will remain closed overnight. Crews have made good progress clearing the slip but have suspended work due to a lack of light. Work will resume early tomorrow morning, and an update will be provided. Motorists should continue to detour via SH1 until the road is re-opened. ^JS

Tolls will be waived on SH1 for the duration of the closure.

8:10AM FRI, 24 APRIL

Due to a slip, Hibiscus Coast Highway north of Orewa is closed from Hatfields Beach Reserve to the Puhoi interchange. Weranui Rd will only be accessible to residents until further notice. Consider delaying your journey or using SH1.

EASTER LONG WEEKEND: We are currently closed for the Easter 4 day weekend and will be back on the tools 8am Tuesday. In the meantime, please contact us via email on [email protected] and one of our service team will be in touch when we return. Breakdowns can be left with us at your own risk over this period, with the keys left in our wall mounted drop box system outside our front office. This will be regularly cleared. Drive safely out there this weekend...if you can afford the fuel to drive anywhere that is!

AND THAT'S A WRAP FOR 2025: From cars, to clean-up, to kayaks, so ends our year. We kicked off our Christmas closedown period today with our end-of-year staff function thanks to Puhoi Kayaking, Puhoi and the Puhoi Pub. Lots of laughs had! We'll be back on the tools Monday 5th January 2026 after a well earned recharge.

In the meantime, you are welcome to leave breakdowns at your own risk in our front carpark, with keys in our wall mounted lockbox. Our building has 24hr camera surveillance and we will be regularly clearing the lockbox. We will be in touch with a repair plan asap on our return.
