With the 2026/27 race season starting tomorrow at Ruapuna for some classes we would like to take the opportunity to wish a few of the young drivers DSM support the very best of luck …..

First up is Ollie Hicks-Sandri racing his immaculately prepared Toyota Levin for his first full season in the 2K CUP South Island Championship. His smooth and consistent driving was awesome to see at a recent club event - go well Ollie!

Next up is poster boy for the Ruapuna round - Tim Leonard Motorsport driving his super quick Nissan Pulsar in SS Cup. Tim and his Dad have been busy in the off season upgrading the Pulsar and can’t wait to see him flying around the track!

Alex Sprague Motorsport is driving a very cool Formula Ford this season. While most people know Alex as the current champion of 2K CUP in the Integra, he is taking on the challenge of open wheelers and loving it. While this weekend is not an official South Island Formula Ford round, he is taking the opportunity to continue learning the car - go well Alex!

We enjoy supporting young drivers starting in Motorsport and helping where we can.
Very excited to see this season begin with more drivers starting their seasons in the next few weeks 🏁

DSM received an SOS call from a competitor at the race track yesterday afternoon. The clutch in his Toyota Levin had given up during a practice session and as he is new to circuit racing was very keen to carry on with the August Club Day being held today.
Our dynamic duo Batman & Robin aka Ronnie & Gazza threw on their capes and quickly installed a new clutch in the car.

Today was the last day at DSM for our wee superstar apprentice, Lucas.
We will miss his friendly, good nature as will our customers who appreciated his respectful manner.
While we are sad to see Lucas leave us, we are excited for him and his new adventure in Cromwell.
Thank you Lucas for everything you have done for us, we really appreciate it and will miss you!

DSM is looking for an experienced automotive technician to carry out general vehicle repairs on a wide variety of vehicles.
WOF certified would be an advantage but not essential.
If you’re ready for a change and want to be part of a small, friendly, locally owned and operated workshop please get in touch with Ronnie.

Applicants must be New Zealand residents and hold a full New Zealand driver’s license
