🤔 Ramp Rear Door or Lift-Up Rear Door?

This is one of the most common questions we get when designing a trailer, and the answer really comes down to how you'll use it.

Ramp Rear Door
✔ Ideal for loading dirt bikes, mowers, generators, karts and other wheeled equipment
✔ No heavy lifting required
✔ Easy roll-in, roll-out access

Things to consider:
➖ Adds weight to the rear of the trailer
➖ Higher cost than a standard lift-up door

Lift-Up Rear Door
✔ Creates instant shelter from the sun and rain
✔ Quick and easy access
✔ Lighter and more cost-effective option

Things to consider:
➖ Wheeled equipment may require portable ramps
➖ Not as convenient for loading heavier gear

Neither option is right or wrong, it simply depends on what you're carrying and how you plan to use your trailer.

Buying a trailer seems simple… until you start using it.

The things that catch people out usually aren't the big decisions like size or colour. It's the small details that seemed unimportant at the time.

A missing spare wheel.
Not enough tie-down options.
No easy access to straps and gear.
A trailer that's heavier than expected once it's loaded.
Or plans to convert it into a camper later without allowing for windows, vents, or caravan locks from the start.

These are the most common trailer afterthoughts we see, and how to avoid them.
