Your WoF may be further away... but responsibility for your vehicle doesn’t stop there.
From November 2026, WoF inspections will be less frequent for many vehicles, meaning owners will need to take a more proactive
approach to vehicle maintenance.
Regular servicing and safety checks help keep your vehicle safe, reliable and ready for the road.
Because safety isn’t just about passing a WoF, it’s about every trip in between.

Does it matter whether you use 91, 95 or 98 octane fuel?
The short answer is **yes**—but not in the way many people think.
Your vehicle's manufacturer recommends a fuel grade for a reason. Using the correct octane helps your engine deliver the
performance, fuel economy and reliability it was designed for.
Using a lower octane fuel than recommended can lead to engine knocking (also called detonation), which can place extra stress on
internal engine components over time and may result in costly repairs.
The good news? You don't need to buy the most expensive fuel—just the **right** fuel for your vehicle.

Back to school means busy roads are back!
As students head back to the classroom, school zones, crossings and morning traffic will be much busier.
A few simple reminders can help keep everyone safe:
Slow down around schools.
Watch for children crossing unexpectedly.
Be patient around school buses and drop-off zones.
Keep distractions to a minimum and stay alert.
A little extra care can make a big difference. Wishing everyone a safe and successful start to the school term!

Are your headlights working for you?
Your headlights don't just help you see the road, they help other road users see you too.
Over time, headlights can become cloudy, dim or misaligned, reducing visibility and making night driving less safe.
If you've noticed:
Dull or yellowed headlights
Reduced visibility in wet weather
Headlights pointing too high or too low..it might be time for a check.
Your local Automotive Solutions workshop can inspect your headlights, replace worn bulbs, restore cloudy lenses where possible, and
make sure they're correctly aligned, helping you drive with confidence, day or night.

Very short trips are fuel-hungry.
Your engine uses more fuel before it reaches optimal temperature.
For short distances, consider combining trips or sharing a ride with a neighbour or family member.
Small changes can lead to big savings over time.
If your car is mostly used for short trips, regular servicing is even more important.
